This is most of the plastic I found in the trash can in the lunch area. I found lots of plastic containers, bottle, and food wrapping most of the stuff I found were not even open. For example Pretzels and sandwiches.
Trash Analysis and Reflection One thing that caught my attention is how much plastic containers were in the trash can, and that some people did not finish their food but just threw away. For example, someone threw away a bag of pretzels and the pretzels were not even open. Some also threw away a sandwich that was in an opened plastic bag. I would like to know more about how much recycling is in the recycling bin. There are a lot of plastic recyclables are in the trash can, how much is in the recycling bin. Also, I would like to know why people do not save their food for later. To find out more about the contents of the trash I could interview my advisory or my whole class, because I am with them most of the day. I could also ask teachers or the janitors. Some ideas I have after analyzing the trash are getting more recycling bins and getting rid of some trash bins. By getting more recycling bins we can then have kore students recycle their stuff because this will tell them they need to recycle and by having more places to recycle it will be easier for the students to recycle. By getting rid of trash cans we will get kids to recycle more because there will be less places for students to throw away just any trash.
